Jan-Willem Hoste, PhD, has ten years of experience in venturing and innovation in the space of medtech, deeptech and e-commerce. During his PhD at the Photonics Research Group of UGent he pioneered the use of silicon photonic chips for self-care applications leading to the invention of the Meep minilab.

He has a solid track record in the in-vitro-diagnostics space, taking up leadership positions in Mycartis, Antelope Dx and Meep. In addition to founding Antelope Dx and Meep, he founded two B2C e-commerce companies during his twenties. Jan-Willem is excited by democratizing healthcare by bringing high-end medical functionalities towards patients and individuals.
