He specializes in urological oncology and minimally invasive (robot-assisted) surgery, pioneering robotic urological procedures since around 2001. Having performed thousands of robotic surgeries, he is among the most experienced in the field.

He founded the ORSI Academy in 2010, a leading multidisciplinary training center dedicated to robotic and minimally invasive surgery, serving as its CEO. He also heads the Urology Department at OLV Hospital in Aalst

Additionally, he holds academic appointments as Associate or Guest Professor at Universität des Saarlandes (Germany), Ghent University and the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium), and the Global Robotic Institute in Florida, USA
